OF FRUIT PUMP DETECTION EXPERT SYSTEM IN USING FORWARD
CHAINING METHOD

In the cultivation of citrus plants farmers often experience pest disturbances
on citrus fruit this can result in decreased productivity. Another factor causing the
declining productivity of citrus fruits is extreme weather (prolonged drought). Many
losses due to pests in citrus fruits that are too late to be diagnosed and even reach
severe levels resulting in crop failure.

The making of an expert system application consists of a system feasibility
analysis, an analysis of system requirements and system development. The stages
in the development of this expert system are the first stage in the form of
identification of the problem under study, the second is in the form of the use of rules
/ rules in the form of IF-THEN for the knowledge base. The next stage is the
formalization of an inference engine using forward chaining tracking techniques in
determining diagnoses.

Based on the tests carried out obtained the level of concordance with the
program diagnostic results using the method of forward chaining with 100% expert
diagnostic results. This shows that the forward chaining method is effective in
providing early detection results.
